Redpath Sugar is part of the ASR Group, the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar.
The Redpath Belleville plant is a blending and packaging operation producing a variety of sugar containing products for customers in Canada and the U.S. The plant operates state of the art high speed mixing and packaging systems supported by high level safety, quality and logistics systems.

OVERVIEW
We have an immediate opening for a Maintenance Millwright to join the maintenance team and are seeking individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing operation and have excellent communication skills, a drive for results and have the energy and vision to recognize and implement improvement opportunities both independently and as part of a team with members of all levels of an organization.
Inspects, adjusts and repairs all packaging equipment and associated with the packaging lines. Makes necessary notes, paper records, and utilizes the CMMS system. Provide maintenance support for plant across 3 shifts. Respond to all maintenance requests via packaging Shift Forepersons and work in accordance to Redpath’s Health and Safety Policy.
ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for providing overall mechanical support to the production group in the areas of packaging as well as processing and facilities to ensure continuous operations.
- Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing & packaging departments
- Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, an analytical problem solving
- Experience with drill press, grinder, saws, and all other machine shop tools
- Setup, takedown, and relocation of bakery and packaging equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections
- Provide solution to routine or unique equipment problems
- Promptly respond to equipment-related issues with a customer-oriented manner
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Millwright License or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management software
- Good knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with electrical systems
- Basic Electrical skills
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Welding certificate
- PLC troubleshooting.
Hourly Rate: $43.35
